Nomeolvides P/V 2027 is born from the observation of old walls and wallpapers that, with the passage of time, deteriorate, peel away and reveal the layers that existed beneath. Under each fragment, a story emerges: colours, patterns and textures that speak of the past and of the soul of the place they once adorned.
This idea is translated into the garments through the layering of fabrics, playing with different textures, colours and materials that reveal themselves, conceal themselves and resurface once more. The pieces thus become living surfaces, where the new coexists with what was already there.
But Nomeolvides also speaks of the designer’s own creative process. A collection is, by its very nature, ephemeral: it is born, presented and, with time, may be left behind to make way for new proposals and new languages. From this arises the desire not to forget — to preserve a part of the soul that exists behind each creation.
For this reason, fabrics used in previous collections return transformed, becoming the foundation of a new chromatic palette and emerging from the garments like those walls that, as they crack, reveal everything that lay beneath.
Nomeolvides is, ultimately, a reflection on time, memory and the identity of the designer: that which changes, but never entirely disappears.
