The Barcelona Provincial Council is a local government institution that promotes progress and well-being for citizens within its territory: the province of Barcelona, made up of 311 connected municipalities. This represents 24% of Catalonia’s total surface area and 74% of its population (5.7 million people). It operates both by directly providing services and, above all, in cooperation with local councils.
