Barcelona is made of folds.
So is its fashion culture.
PLEC · Barcelona Fashion Culture is a new city platform initiated by Barcelona City Council as part of the Barcelona Fashion Strategic Plan 2025–2030.
Behind every fold are crafts, images, scenes, memories and ways of making that shape Barcelona’s fashion culture.
PLEC looks precisely here: at everything already happening across the city that simply needs to be connected. Between the workshop and the street. Between craft and scene. Between heritage and the future. Between those who create and those who look.
On 21 and 22 October, PLEC unfolds at Els Tinglados del Port Vell with its Vol. 1: two evenings to look, listen, discover, meet and be surprised by different forms of fashion culture.
An interactive installation, a journey through the city’s editorial memory, live conversations, live music and artistic and performance actions will shape a programme connecting image, fashion culture, music, art, performance and the city.
AGENDA
ONGOING ACTIVITIES · 21 & 22 OCTOBER
THE INSTALLATION: ACTIVATING ARCHIVE 3.137 × Luis Venegas
An installation curated by fashion editor Luis Venegas especially for PLEC, drawing on a selection from his personal archive and looking at it through a distinctly Barcelona lens. A creator revisiting his city through international fashion on paper. What if a magazine were a museum piece?
THE PLEC OBJECT × CentsdeCels
A one-off T-shirt born from the dialogue between the emerging Barcelona label and the world of PLEC. CentsdeCels is one of the labels selected for the 7th edition of Barcelona Fashion Forward, the Barcelona City Council programme supporting emerging fashion talent.
THE EPHEMERAL KIOSK × Free Time Barcelona
A local bookshop and family-run project that has been circulating fashion publishing culture in Barcelona for more than 30 years. First at La Rambla, 100, and now at Comte Urgell, 32, it keeps alive and champions a craft, a point of view and a way of doing things that belong to the city’s memory. References that were here long before algorithms.
THE BOOK × Miguel Adrover. The Designer, The Model, The Photographer · Miguel Adrover · Self-Portraits
An artist, a camera and a point of view all his own. A project built around Miguel Adrover’s book and the intimate relationship between designer, model and photographer. Accompanied by an audiovisual piece created by communicator Àlex Grimà in the artist’s home.

Fashion Comes to the Neighbourhoods
From 20 to 23 October, PLEC · 080 ON SCREEN will bring the 080 Barcelona Fashion runway shows to different parts of Barcelona, so fashion can also be seen, shared and experienced in the street.
This initiative is supported by FEED DOC, with whom we share a view of fashion as visual culture and as a space for new conversations and experiences. FEED DOC joins the programme with live activations that bring design and fashion culture into the street.
A way of opening Fashion Week up to the city and bringing the runway shows of 080’s participating brands into Barcelona’s neighbourhoods.

Round the world and back to the Born, or how to turn Barcelona into a style and take it to the world

UNEXPECTED
The CUSTO BARCELONA runway show comes to the neighbourhoods with its creator, Custo Dalmau.
From Barcelona, Custo built his own way of understanding fashion. A language of colour, prints and attitude that defined an era and carried the city’s name onto the world’s leading runways, stages and red carpets.
In conversation with Maria Almenar, journalist covering culture, fashion and style, Custo presents UNEXPECTED, a new collection that stays true to the house’s DNA, once again playing with colour, textures, attitude and a highly distinctive approach to fashion.
And he does so in the Born, the neighbourhood where he opened his first Barcelona store.
Watch the show. Hear from Custo. And celebrate a fashion story that is also a story of Barcelona.Free admission.
A way to kick off Fashion Week in the city and ensure that the runway shows by the brands participating in 080 can also be enjoyed in the neighborhoods.
This year, fashion takes over Barcelona, and the general public takes center stage.
