When artificial intelligence takes action: agentic AI in the textile industry

Artificial intelligence is entering a new stage. Agentic AI goes beyond generating content or recommendations:
it enables the development of systems capable of receiving an objective, planning the steps required to achieve it, consulting data, using applications, coordinating tasks and adapting to changes during execution, always within predefined permissions and under human supervision.

This shift opens up new possibilities for industry. In a textile company, these systems can help connect information, processes and decisions across the entire value chain, from market intelligence, design and product development to planning, manufacturing, logistics, traceability, sustainability, sales and customer service.

TexMeeting 2026 aims to provide a practical and forward-looking perspective on the opportunities this new generation of artificial intelligence opens up for the sector. The event will explore how agentic AI can transform processes, accelerate decision-making, improve coordination across business areas and enable more

efficient, connected and adaptable ways of working. It will also address the conditions required for effective implementation, including data quality and availability, technological integration, security, human oversight, accountability and the evolution of professional roles.

technology could contribute to the transformation of the textile industry.

THE EVENT

TexMeeting 2026 will combine specialist knowledge, experiences of agentic AI applications in industrial environments and the perspectives of professionals and companies from the textile sector. The event will take participants from understanding this new generation of artificial intelligence to exploring its real-world applications, with the aim of inspiring new ideas, sharing practical insights and opening the debate on how technological potential can be turned into concrete opportunities for industry.

TexMeeting is the annual event organized by TEXFOR, the Spanish Textile Industry Confederation, and forms part of the official programme of 080 Barcelona Fashion Week.
