VELÁSQUEZ

Born in Colombia, creative director Mateo Velásquez grew up between Madrid and London, using elements of this hybrid upbringing and his own queer experiences to explore contemporary takes on traditional menswear, reflecting on social convention and masculinity by looking at current affairs and social issues. Mateo Velásquez received a master’s degree in menswear design from the University of Westminster and shortly afterwards presented his first collection at the Autumn-Winter 2021 Madrid Fashion Week. The label won international acclaim with this collection at the famous Hyeres Festival of Fashion organised by the LVMH group in collaboration with Chanel and Chloé.
