TANIA MARCIAL

Delivery

The collection is born from the concept of “delivery,” a very personal theme for the designer.
For many years, Tania Marcial worked delivering pizzas while studying fashion, just before her career began to take off.

Delivery is hard and precarious work, but it also provided her with countless experiences and visual references that enrich this proposal.

The collection presents different roles that shape this narrative: the couriers, exposed to harsh weather and temperature contrasts, and the consumers of delivery, waiting at home with a comfortable and relaxed appearance, each with their own lives, aesthetics, and stories.

This collection involved a lot of research. Several fabrics are created from scratch, using different techniques and manipulations to add texture to the pieces.

Typography and color contrast play an important role, forming texts and abstract compositions that create “prints.” These typographies were designed based on the concept of the collection, using words like “mojao,” “cancelao,” “express,” “bochorno”, etc.

It is a maximalist collection in terms of styling, colors, and ways of combining everything, pushing boundaries with attitude, street style, politics, and sarcasm.

Tania Marcial (Sabadell, 1992) is an upcycling fashion designer based in Barcelona.

She studied at Escola d’Art Illa, where she discovered her first affinities with fashion, and then continued her university degree at LCI Barcelona. Her first job after university, at a design studio serving as a fast fashion supplier, gave her a real perspective on how the fast fashion sector works. From this experience, she realized it was completely opposite to her values and decided to create her own path.

In 2019, the designer began experimenting in the family workshop, creating fabrics from second-hand garments by joining pieces together—using items as common as jeans and branded T-shirts—while observing what was around her. She explored her own vision of fashion based on her background and origins, building on conceptual pillars such as the outskirts of Barcelona, the underground, and the working class.

Her garments are closely linked to music and artistic personalities from the city of Barcelona. She has dressed and created custom pieces for a long list of artists, including Avril Lavigne, Ronaldinho, Nathy Peluso, La Zowie, Julieta, Delafuente, Recycled J, Mala Rodríguez, Mushka, Manu Rios, among others.

She has also collaborated and worked with established brands in the current fashion scene such as Two Jeys, Ssstufff Supermarket, Armand Basi, and Top Manta.
