Florencia López Cornejo is an Argentine fashion designer and the founder of Crypta, an artistic practice developed through fashion and based in Barcelona.
Trained at the Universidad de Buenos Aires, she moved to Barcelona in 2018 and began exploring the construction of a language of her own, which gave rise to her first collection, Raíz, presented in 2023. With it, she was recognised as one of the most outstanding emerging fashion proposals at the REC.0 / 080 Barcelona Fashion competition, and went on to present her work at the EGO showroom at MBFW for two consecutive years.
Crypta understands dressing as a space of sensory experimentation, where construction and error become the language itself. It explores the possibilities of the rectangle as an essential minimal unit through pattern-making and weaving, seeking to strip it of the rigidity of its geometric structure and turn it into an object capable of being inhabited by a body.
Her collections are conceived from the possibilities of the material: the fabrics, their limits and imperfections are foregrounded throughout the creative process. A consciously restrained colour palette cedes centre stage to texture, whilst visible construction marks make the process legible.
In 2025, Florencia opened her first studio-shop in Barcelona — a space where experimentation, design and exhibition coexist. The workshop becomes an extension of her artistic universe: a sacred and intimate place where what no longer exists, remains.
