The Memory of Time FW24-25
Discover who we are, where we come from in order to understand our origins and where we are headed. The Memory of Time, Fall/Winter 2024–25, is inspired by fossils and life preserved in an instant, hence evoking the fleetingness of time and its ability to exist forever in our memory. Reminiscent of limestone, golden spirals and earth sediments inspire this collection with three-dimensional fabric designs that recall various forms of life trapped in stone. Fabrics that tell little stories about time and memory, while connecting present and future and emphasising that important things stay forever.
At SIMORRA, fabrics become the focal point of each collection by telling stories of origin, humanity and transgenerationality. Fabrics that illustrate fossils, the value of time and its permanence in memory, while interpreting classics for current needs, creating garments that bear witness to time.
The collection features dresses and blouses with plant motifs, gathers reminiscent of chalky prints, pleated nappa leather resembling fish scales as well as iridescent shell-like fabrics. Plant reliefs on denim and jacquard that resemble animal textures engraved in rock in a range of ochre, greenish oxide and faded grey. Fabrics with 3D textures and volumes in handcrafted organza and neo-craft techniques in blouses and dresses.
Atmosphere
SIMORRA focuses its proposals on the architecture of materials and forms as the basis for functional design with a high creative value. It is the result of a desire to push the boundaries of form to create useful things with a strong aesthetic component.
The brand designs are defined not only by the way it draws inspiration from its origins but also by its constant reimagining, which generates a sense of novelty that is meant to thrill those who enjoy their creations.
The SIMORRA design team conceives cutting-edge design as a vehicle for creative expression through the manipulation of materials: ”Our desire is to push the boundaries of form to create useful things with a high aesthetic component, and what defines us is how we continually draw from our origins, constantly reformulating in order to keep generating novelty and continue thrilling with our proposals.”
This philosophy naturally reflects what we present for each collection and the way it engages with a transgenerational society united by a common purpose, where age is not a discriminatory factor.” We advocate for balance and transgenerational collaboration as the key for a wiser, more inclusive and developed society, just as we learn from the past techniques and combine them with new technologies to create our design and fabrics.”
