MARÍA ESCOTÉ

María Escoté is a rebellious, passionate, and creative designer with a unique pop-inspired universe. Growing up surrounded by art—her mother a weaver, her father a painter—she developed a distinct artistic vision. In 2006, she launched her own brand, crafting vibrant streetwear that now walks the streets worldwide. Celebrities such as Beyoncé, Rosalía, Zendaya, Rita Ora, Miley Cyrus, and Katy Perry have embraced her eclectic style.

In 2010, Escoté won the Marie Claire award, and in 2012, she was selected as the most outstanding designer at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Madrid by Mercedes Benz and Luisa Via Roma. She became a regular presence on the Madrid catwalk and was invited to Fierze4Ever 2012 in Florence. Her international reputation grew in 2014 after her highly praised show in Beijing, where she returned in 2016 to present new designs.

That same year, she made fashion history by launching “See Now, Buy Now,” allowing collections to be purchased immediately after their runway debut. This innovative approach expanded her brand’s global reach and set a new industry standard. In 2014, she also introduced “María Kids,” bringing her signature playful style to children’s fashion.

Escoté’s designs promote equality, love, and vibrant self-expression, leading to collaborations with My Little Pony, Hello Kitty, The Powerpuff Girls, Pucca, and Wonder Woman. Her collections merge nostalgia with contemporary streetwear, making her a favorite among pop culture icons.

Sustainability became part of her work in 2019 when she collaborated with Wallapop, reinterpreting second-hand garments into a unique runway collection that showcased her commitment to circular fashion. In 2020, she partnered with Desigual, launching a mangainspired collection filled with bold colors and floral motifs, injecting energy into autumn fashion.

Following its success, the Desigual x María Escoté collaboration continued, producing seasonal collections that gained dedicated collectors worldwide.
