Plan B
Plan B blooms like a garden in dim light, where time slows and memory breathes. In a single heartbeat, the iconic pieces of Atelier Bolaño come together, embraced by the “B”: a symbol of the essential, of the deep black that envelops everything, and of the initial that holds the soul of the house.
Each garment is born from patient hands, as if sewing were an ancient ritual. Noble fabrics whisper stories, expand into unexpected volumes, and shape a contemporary silhouette that, without abandoning the present, preserves the mark of the past. They carry an almost pastoral delicacy, a beauty that seems gathered at dawn, among soft mists and slanted light.
The collection inhabits the romanticism of the 19th century and the refined echoes of haute couture from the 1950s and 1960s. Naïve and kitsch coexist, as well as the melancholic tenderness of the sad clown, theatrical gestures, and historical evocations. Like a curtain slowly rising, cinema and music from all eras appear, alongside the immortal shadow of Anna Maria Mazzini, weaving a universe where dreams and memory walk hand in hand.
Atmosphere
Manuel Bolaño, born in Barcelona but raised in Galicia, returned to Barcelona in 2002 to study fashion, graduating in 2007 from La Escuela Superior de Diseño y Moda Felicidad Duce, where he received the award for Best Graduation Collection. He has been a finalist and winner in various national competitions.
Selected for the “Projecte Bressol” by the Generalitat de Catalunya, he was able to present his first collection in 2008 at 080 Barcelona Fashion, a platform that recognized him as Best Women’s Designer in the Summer editions of 2011 and 2012.
Since 2018, Bolaño has been the Creative Director of “Plan B”, a continuous and timeless collection where garments are crafted artisanally, made-to-measure, and inspired by the romantic heritage of traditional ateliers. Bolaño has designed and created part of the wardrobe for the film La Piedad and the series Silencio by Eduardo Casanova, and has dressed chef Javier de Juanas for his clandestine dinners.
Throughout his career, Manuel Bolaño has built a loyal community that values his aesthetic coherence and creative independence. Rather than following the fast-paced rhythm of the industry, the designer has chosen his own path, defending fashion as a cultural and emotional expression. His work creates a recognizable imaginary where historical, theatrical, and intimate elements intertwine with sensitivity and character.
