Orgullo Migrante
Orgullo Migrante is a retrospective: a curation of pieces that have shaped my story, drawn from different collections where I have consistently upheld a commitment to sharing this pride, intervened by the present, because identity is not static… it transforms, resists, and evolves.
Part of this inspiration also comes from a dialogue with the work BORDERS by Mónica Lozano, whose images inhabit several garments, adding a conceptual dimension that amplifies the collection’s visual discourse.
Her photographs are not only integrated as an aesthetic element, but as a living narrative: memory, territory, and emotion on the body.
It speaks about migration.
But also about what forces migration.
About borders that divide,
systems that exclude,
labels that attempt to define who belongs and who does not.
It speaks about what it means to be Mexican,
to be Latin,
and to carry that meaning in territories where you are often not welcomed.
Each garment is a statement.
Each look is a way of occupying space.
The silhouettes are genderless, inviting reflection
in a space where freedom is non-negotiable.
Because the streets represent the real runways of the world:
they do not follow imposed rules,
only identity.
Where color is not aesthetic, but symbolic:
green, white, and red as roots,
Mexican pink and orange as living energy,
and black…
as the harshness of the city,
as the shadow that also shapes us.
This collection does not seek to fit in.
It seeks to question.
It does not ask for permission.
Because being a migrant is not a weakness.
It is an identity that is defended,
honored,
and carried with pride.
ORGULLO MIGRANTE is presented exclusively for the first time as part of 080 Barcelona Fashion.
Atmosphere
The trajectory of Ricardo Seco has become one of the most authentic and committed voices in contemporary Mexican and Latin fashion. Originally from Mexico, Seco has built an aesthetic proposal that merges identity, culture, and social discourse, positioning himself as a designer who uses fashion as a medium for expression and reflection.
Over his 25-year career, he has stood out for bringing Mexican pride to international stages, especially in cities such as New York, Paris, and London, where he has presented collections that engage with themes such as migration, diversity, and inclusion. His work is characterized by integrating cultural symbols, urban references, and powerful messages that connect with diverse audiences.
Ricardo Seco has transcended traditional design by incorporating personal and collective narratives into each of his pieces. His collections do not only dress—they communicate: they are visual manifestos that celebrate Latin identity and challenge both physical and cultural borders.
Beyond the runway, he has collaborated with brands such as Converse, New Balance, Casa Cuervo, Disney, and Chapulín Colorado, as well as with artists, musicians, and cultural platforms, expanding the reach of his message beyond fashion. His interdisciplinary approach has made him a benchmark for purposeful creativity.
Today, his work continues to evolve through retrospective projects and new proposals that reaffirm his commitment to representation, memory, and migrant pride. Ricardo Seco does not just design clothing: he builds identity, community, and dialogue through each collection.
