FIESTAS PATRONALES

“For me, patronal festivities have three components: the perennial, the deciduous, and the mutable.

The dates on which they are celebrated, the cultural context, and certain rituals and traditions are perennial. They remain timeless and form an essential part of the festival’s identity.

Some customs, rituals, and elements are deciduous, disappearing as they adapt to changing circumstances and the passage of time.

The mutable aspect of the festivities lies in its ability to embrace all who wish to participate. It offers an inclusive experience for everyone who comes and goes. Open-hearted and welcoming, it does not exclude, and above all, it does not judge.

Patronal festivities are so assured in their identity that they welcome us and bid us farewell with the same serene smile they had when we first arrived. Confident that the experiences shared within them will never be forgotten.”

This collection presents a journey through the most significant day of the festivities, from the pilgrimage to the “verbena”, from card tournaments to the vermouth, in settings where everyone is included. It is a tribute to the joy of the festivities, celebrating each locality’s identity and offering meaning to both communal and individual life.

Here we see a reinterpretation of traditional attire from various regions (such as the “chulapo” and “chulapa” outfits from Madrid, the silhouette of the “alistana” dress from Zamora, etc.), combined with contemporary touches and the diverse characters who attend the festivities. Teenagers on the brink of adulthood, elderly ladies attending mass, people dressed in their finest for the main day of the celebrations…

A shared world where both grandmother and granddaughter find their place. The mother and her teenage daughter, whom she watches over during the evening dance. The day and the night. The religious and the secular. The prayers and bachatas or merengues at the verbena.

Because  MadridManso’s “Fiestas Patronales” belong to everyone and are for everyone.

MadridManso is an emotional fashion brand born in 2018 as a representation of a dialogue between the past, present and future. A conversation between what we have been, what we are and what we want to be.

The designs of the firm seek to preserve and update nostalgia and memory, always from a place of illusion and joy, to be a conveyor of culture, and a storyteller of current codes where times converge, keeping the collective memory alive.

In MadridManso garments for special occasions, parties or events, and custom pieces (bridal and guests) are designed and made fleeing from large productions. We work under the premise of a structure where care and enthusiasm are the pillars of our designs and collections.

Raúl Madrid Manso, the creative director of the firm, was born in Zamora in 1994. After graduating in Fashion Design at the CSDMM (Centro Superior de Diseño de Moda de Madrid), Raúl worked as a stylist for television programs, editorials such as Condé Nast, and audiovisual projects of international repercussion. For 5 seasons, the MadridManso designer was the 1st assistant costume designer for the Netflix series, Elite.

In a more creative branch, Raúl has designed the costumes and masks for all the seasons of the TV show “Mask Singer” in Spain.

Simultaneously and since 2018, Raúl has worked in the construction of MadridManso, showcasing his collections in two editions of the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in Madrid, and dressing artists such as Luz Casal, Lourdes Hernandez (Russian Red) or Natalia Ferviú. In June 2023 he opened his first atelier in Madrid.
