Penélope
In Greek mythology, Penelope was the wife of Odysseus, king of Ithaca. When he departed for the Trojan War, she waited for him for twenty years, remaining faithful despite the widespread belief that her husband was dead and the dozens of suitors who sought to marry her and claim the throne. To delay them, she wove a shroud for her father-in-law during the day and unraveled it at night, promising to choose a husband once the work was finished. With cunning and perseverance, she wove her destiny.
From this story emerges the collection PENÉLOPE, a manifesto on good fortune understood as the result of discipline, perseverance, and the deep desire to achieve happiness. Each garment symbolizes the daily struggle to accomplish challenges, the value of effort, and the hope that sustains the most ambitious dreams.
ROBERTO MONTES SANZ
The color palette combines softness and strength: pastel pink and light blue evoke the innocence of beginnings; white represents purity and clarity of purpose; black stands for discipline and intensity; and burgundy embodies passion, determination, and triumph achieved through effort.
Corsetry forms the structural axis of the collection, a metaphor for the inner strength that supports and shapes the path toward achievement. Bows, featured as a central detail, represent unity, affection, and the invisible bond with our dreams and those who inspire us.
This collection does not merely dress the body: it embraces the spirit. It is a reminder that true good fortune arises when the desire to be happy meets the courage to never give up, and that every achievement is born from perseverance, effort, and passion for what we long for.
For me, Roberto Montes, design is born from an intimate need: to express without words what persistently inhabits my mind. My creations emerge as a way of giving form to intrusive thoughts, contained emotions, and reflections that somehow need to be exposed and contemplated.
Spontaneously, almost accidentally, I began to build my own visual language. Without formal studies in fashion or garment construction, I entered the world of design through intuition, guided more by emotional impulse than by academic rules. My learning process has been organic, shaped by practice, curiosity, and the urgency to transform ideas into matter.
Two years ago, encouraged by family and friends, I decided to name this creative universe that had long been taking shape. Thus, BIBENCIA was born—not as a branding strategy, but as the natural consequence of a personal restlessness that demanded to exist. More than a commercial project, it is an extension of my identity as a creator.
My work moves away from a purely aesthetic approach to position itself on a more introspective level. In my pieces, value lies not only in the visual aspect, but in the emotional weight they carry. Each garment functions as a fragment of my story, a narrative vehicle that connects the viewer with what usually remains hidden in the subconscious.
My creative process revolves around storytelling. I do not merely design clothing; I build atmospheres, concepts, and narratives that envelop each collection. For me, design is a tool for personal and collective exploration—a space where the invisible takes shape and emotion becomes fabric.
