Fashion brand Brain & Beast has brought the 4th day of shows to a close today at the 19th edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion runway with the collection “Trilogy Vol. Y / Playback / Winter 2017-18”. According to the brand itself, the collection “is conceived as a hypnagogic journey, a series of intense perceptions, visual, auditory and tactile, which appear in the intermediate state between waking and sleep, and are felt as real”. With this starting point, Brain& Beast strikes us again with their designs for man and woman.
.
In the morning, newcomers Aubergin and Daniel Rosa have opened the runway today. Designers Anna Uimonen and Nevean Holmes, from Aubergin, have presented “East”, inspired by painter Frantisek Kupka, from the early twentieth century period in Eastern Europe. Their designs constitute a balance between geometric and organic abstraction through the use of fabrics like woven wool and faux fur along with their personal prints.
.
Daniel Rosa has been the next on the catwalk with his debut collection “Isolation” for man and woman. Inspired by Mount Rainier, the most fearful volcano in the United States, the young designer speaks about tenacity, comfort and nostalgia through his designs, with white, silver and different shades of green stand as the main colours and the use of fabrics like cold wool, technical fabrics, broadcloth, denim and hand-knitted tricot.

Next, Torras has followed on the runway with “Klee Topia”, their menswear proposal for autumn-winter 2017-18 inspired by the combination of the concept utopia and the art by Paul Klee. The result is a more sophisticated collection than in precedents seasons thanks to a though-out styling which stands out for the layering game, the colour combination amongst a rich colour palette and the work with textures, with leather as the main element.
.
The womenswear brand Wom&Now has been in charge to bring the morning shows to a close with “Miscelaneous” for autumn-winter 2017-18. With this collection, Wom&Now combines their characteristic party and elegant looks with day-to-day outfits in a mix of styles that includes from sporty touches to sexy vibes and even punk references. It’s a stylistic mix&match where black is the main colour although red, blue and grey are other tones that stand out in the collection.

Regarding the parallel activities this morning, the Minister of Business and Knowledge, Jordi Baiget, has opened the 5th edition of the Barcelona Fashion Summit, the Spanish fashion industry’s professional forum organized by Moda.es that, on this occasion, has focused on the future challenges of the sector. Within the opening framework, Baiget has pointed out that the future of fashion depends on such factors as “entrepreneurship, flexibility, plans for ongoing training, innovation and internationalization and, especially, the collaboration between companies, projects and different fields of knowledge”.
.
In addition, Manuel Bolaño has presented his permanent collection “Plan B”, which can be seen in the Open Area as a display exhibition and that you can purchase online. The designer has explained that it’s a new line “inspired by the idea of offering an ongoing and permanent collection, timeless and that can last a lifetime”. His objective with it is to “add new designs that will be part of Bolaño’s history and that will always be available”. In the afternoon, the designer has opened his own atelier in Barcelona (Gran de Gracia, 239).

Back to the fashion shows, Yerse has opened the afternoon shows with “Togetherness” aimed to woman next autumn-winter 2017-18. The brand wants with this collection to bring back sensations lost in this digital age and highlights the sense of touch and all that is authentic and natural. True to the brand’s spirit, the collection is clean, comfortable and warm although it also introduces new touches like the embroidery and folk details.

For her part, designer Maite Muñoz has presented, with her fashion brand Lebor Gabala, “Sherezade” for next autumn-winter 2017-18. The magical tale of the “One thousand and one nights” is the main inspiration for the velvet kaftans, the light silk dresses and the sexy volumes in an attractive colour palette, which begins in an immaculate white and keeps growing in intensity with mustard, green, blue, purple to end in a deep red.
.
Finally, Justicia Ruano has presented in the 080 Barcelona Fashion runway her collection “Hedonism” for autumn-winter 2017-18. Inspired by the French “art de vivre”, understood here as the capacity of a person to adapt to the customs of a foreign country and culture, Ruano mixes ideas, memories, dreams and wishes throughout her fashion designs that keep their usual feminine and sophisticated style. It’s a collection of contrasts, in which the “sole desire is to praise the aura of an intergalactic heroine”. And she does it through flattering designs, shiny fabrics and soft colours with some touches of emerald and wine for a rebel and pure woman, whose duality make her irresistible.
