080 Award

One of the priorities of 080 Barcelona Fashion is to reward talent in the fashion sector. Reiterating the orientation of previous editions, the 080 prizes maintain their commitment to fostering emerging talent. Therefore, at the 21st edition now beginning, the two awards-the Government of Catalonia 080 Barcelona Fashion National Prize  for emerging design, and the National Prize of the Government of Catalonia for the best collection 080 Barcelona Fashion- are once again joined by the third: the MODACC Prize for fashion exporters.

 
a)       Government of Catalonia 080 Barcelona Fashion National Prize for emerging design, January 2018 ed.
 
The purpose of the prize, which this year will be valued at 15,000 euros, is to support emerging designers at a business and logistics level and to promote the creation of businesses, and implement good practices to ensure the success and growth of these emerging brands. Collaborating on this award is the firm Desigual, who also sponsors the prize.
 
The winner will be selected by a jury especially convened for the occasion. The jury will be made up of a president and at least four professionals from the fashion sector, internationally renowned designers and showroom representatives or representatives of internationally prestigious fashion outlets, international fashion media representatives or representatives from an international fashion institution. The winner will be selected on criteria of design, creativity, quality and commercial potential of the collection.
 
The award winner will present their next collection at the next edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion and will have a part of their collection housed at the Textile and Fashion Museum of Catalonia.

b)    Government of Catalonia National Award for Best Collection 080 Barcelona Fashion

The aim of this award is to support the designers, to evaluate the creativity of the collection, the talent of the designer and the commercial vision of the brand. Opting for this distinction are the designers and fashion labels parading at the present edition of the fashion show and who have a running establishment in Catalonia or in the state, who have a turnover of more than 50.000 Euros and less than 2 million Euros or who have already commercialized 4 collections.
The prize consists of direct participation in the June/July 2018 edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion show at no cost. As with the other award, the winner will be chosen by a professional jury who will evaluate the design and creativity of the collection as well as its quality and commercial potential.

c)    MODACC Best Collection Award to Exporting Brands
 
This category is once again included this year. The award aims to reward the creativity and talent of design teams, the styling and the commercial intent of the Catalan fashion brands that export. The prize consists of direct participation in the next edition of the 080 Barcelona Fashion Show free of charge. The winner will also receive a prize valued at 10,000 Euro in consulting services from the Catalan Fashion cluster (MODACC), as well as a unique piece of artwork as an award
.
Opting in this category are companies with an annual turnover of more than 2 million Euros. This award will be conferred by a special jury made up of a member of the MODACC cluster, a representative of the Consortium of Trade, Crafts and Fashion (CCAM) of the Government, two buyers and one member representative of the fashion industry in Catalonia.
