Rossy de Palma and Lisa Lovatt-Smith Colloquium

Friday, 2 February, 2018 - 18:00

The actress Rossy de Palma and the writer and former editor of Vogue, Lisa Lovatt-Smith, that were friends of the missing designer Azzedine Alaïa, will remember him and his legacy in a colloquium.
This posthumous tribute will be completed at 7:30 p.m., once the fashion show and the 080 awards ceremony have been concluded, on the same event gateway, where a sample of the creator's designs will be presented.
The majority of these designs belong to the private collection of the renowned French actress Isabelle Adjani, and will be presented in an assembly where the choreographer, dancer and filmmaker Blanca Li will be present.

Known as “the fashion sculptor”, Azzedine Alaïa, the French-Tunisian designer, was one of the main players of the universe of fashion for decades.  Therefore, in addition to the recognitions made by the Paris and London fashion weeks, 080 Barcelona Fashion wants to pay tribute to the recently disappeared creator, in the next edition of the catwalk.

Azzedine Alaïa has been one of the most important dressmakers of the last decades. After working for Guy Laroche and collaborating with Thierry Mugler, in 1970 he opened his own atelier to create his trade mark in the 80s. He also was the preceptor of several TOPmodels of the 90s, such as Naomi Campbell, Linda Evangelista or Stephanie Seymour, and he also had among his clients the legend of cinema, Greta Garbo. His collections were full of personality and were characterized by their timelessness in order to enhance the female body, with a classic and elegant aspect.
